Aided by the Nokia 6110, Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman arrived in South Africa last weekend. The men started their journey in May in John O'Groats, Scotland. Their trip covered roughly 24,000 km atop customised BMW motorbikes. This story involves technology and South Africa, so we had to include it. Check out their journey here.
The South African Government has gotten behind the innovation push in South Africa. The government has set aside R16 million for the development of Fabrication Laboratories(FabLabs) across the country to aid in the development of previously disadvantaged communities. These labs provide anyone with the possibility to truly contribute to their community. We tip our hat to you South Africa.
Unfortunately, we had a short week last week due to a public holiday, so some of the stories are a little outdated, but we had to include this last piece because we have noticed Facebook's effect on South Africa.
